San Rafael, CA

A swiftly-growing solar power equipment start-up located in the North San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a motivated Logistics Manager to join their team. The company is designing and manufacturing cutting-edge PV ground mount systems for the utility-scale solar industry. Among the senior leadership and founders of this firm are former members of the product development from some of the biggest names in the industry. This is an opportunity for a skilled international Logistics Manager to join a team on the forefront of the renewable energy revolution.

Qualified candidates will have strong experience with international logistics management, HTS codes, tariffs, and working with global 3PL vendors. Industry experience within manufacturing, construction or engineering would be highly preferred. Ideally this person will have had worked with high volume, customize products and has experience moving large scale units. In addition, a person with a strong independent nature and ability to adaptable within a fast paced, quickly growing environment is a must.


Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating with overseas vendors to manage high-volume import activities of custom large-scale solar products
  • Creating Purchase Orders and managing inventory
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to fulfill customized orders
  • Managing international relationships with global 3PL vendors and negotiating rates
  • Managing shipment and custom activities for import services
  • Ensuring that logistics activities are in compliance with United States Customs and Border Protection regulations
  • Developing and implementing supply chain strategies for international business expansions
  • Identifying opportunities for cost reduction, material flow improvement, and business development
  • Creating and maintaining detailed financial reporting on all import activities including order management, logistics and shipping

Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
  • 3-5+ years of international logistics management experience
  • Experience corresponding with overseas vendors and global 3PL services
  • Familiar with HTS Codes, customs compliance, and tariffs is highly preferred
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering or construction industries is preferred
  • Familiarity with low carbon steel products is a plus
  • Experience within renewable energy is a plus
  • Highly independent, adaptable, self-starter mentality
  • Desire to work in a start-up environment with little supervision
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to travel internationally when needed
