Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Per Se Group has an immediate need for an experienced Industrial Electrician / Instrumentation Technician to perform critical maintenance to electrical systems and instrumentation at a south suburban Chicago chemical manufacturing facility. This individual will be directly responsible for troubleshooting and performing both preventative and reactive maintenance across the facility. Responsibilities
Repair, installation and maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings, grounds and utilities with minimal supervision
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and P&ID diagrams and manuals in order to effectively carry out job assignments
- Maintain and calibrate various instrumentation installed in the facility, such as automated valves and metering devices
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair/replace and install new instrumentation devices
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, 460/230/120 as well as plant lighting repairs and upgrades
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and install new electrical piping and equipment heat trace systems
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of plant PLC systems
- Carry out electrical and/or instrumentation system repairs, installation and maintenance up to 480 volts and 3 phase motors
- Installation of new electrical services
- Support operations technicians on task training in preventative maintenance and minor repairs
- Manage small projects as required
- Works with other maintenance personnel to provide required support
- Able to perform preventative maintenance and repairs of facility fleet vehicles
- Working knowledge of flow meters, control valves, electric heat trace, motors
Requirements
- Five+ years mechanical/electrical maintenance experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry (Industrial trade school attendance and relevant military experience and training may be considered work experience)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’ s license
- Available for shifts and occasional on-call rotation (nights and/or weekends) to respond to plant " call-outs" as required
- Electrical repair, installation and maintenance up to 480 volts/3 phase equipment
- Instrumentation repair, installation and maintenance of digital and/or analog equipment
- PLC ladder logic and programming
- Experience supervising electrical/mechanical work
- Experience estimating/pricing/bidding electrical work
- Experience purchasing materials for mechanical/electrical work
- Welding/pipefitting a plus
